Sarah Tate

Sarah has many years of experience as an executive at Google. She has worked around the world, and in leadership roles across multiple disciplines including Strategy & Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Learning and Development. Her background as an evangelist for Google means she has deep expertise in navigating ambiguity, which she brings to her work.

Sarah’s clients often appreciate her understanding of big corporate environments, and how it can feel to work in them. Her experience of working at executive level in these environments gives her a shared language with many of her clients, which means they never have to explain to her ‘how things work’ or the reality of their context.

Sarah believes successful coaching journeys are goal-oriented, grounded in a safe and trusting working relationship, and drawing on a robust foundation of theory and research.

She integrates theories and interventions from different schools of psychology in her work, most often Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. She is fascinated by story-telling, and the way in which we tell ourselves stories about the world to make meaning from our experience here. She looks for the gaps between the way a client hears stories from others, tells stories to others, and tells stories to themselves. There is very often meaning to be found here.

Sarah has a postgraduate diploma on Executive Coaching from the wonderful Centre for Executive Coaching at Ashridge Hult. She is accredited as a senior practitioner with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. Her client base is international. She is also certified as a Leadership Circle coach.

As a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), Sarah is accountable to their global code of ethics and standards of continuous professional development.
